A15 Bionic Chip

iPhone has updated its bionic chip from using A11 bionic chip when iPhone 8 was launched to A15 Bionic chip for iPhone 13. This new chip is better in efficiency and performance than all the other series of chips used in previous models from A11 to A14. It has 15 billion transistors, graphics, and AI abilities. The A11 chip has only 11.8 billion transistors.

In the A15 Bionic chip, there are two high-performance processing cores that are used for the important work only. And four high-efficiency cores used for background work that won’t sap out any battery power.

These A15 chips are said to be faster and they are supported by a new GPU (graphic processing unit).

A15 chips

This new A15 bionic chip consists of a 16-core neural engine. This circuitry is a vital part of speeding up all the AI tasks, such as generating Siri’s voice. Use Face ID to unlock your phone, and focusing on faces, and recognize information in photos. This neural engine also can perform up to 15.8 trillion operations per second, powering features. Like Cinematic Mode and Smart HDR 4, the ones discussed above are in the ‘Dual-lens rear camera features.’

The iPhone 13 Pro model is 50% faster in graphical performance in comparison to the iPhone 12 Pro, and this iPhone is 15% faster in the same criteria.

With 4GB RAM, these models have 128GB storage, while they can be ordered to have more than 512 GB storage. For an iPhone 13 Pro model, the storage is as high as 1TB, which is more than anyone would need for a phone. With the A15 Bionic chip you can easily use any type of video editing software and the features include a green screen effect directly from your iPhone.

Battery Life

With the introduction of the A15 Bionic chip, Apple has taken a leap where battery life benefits. The iPhone 13 mini’s battery lasts 1.5 hours longer than iPhone 12 mini. For iPhone 13’s battery lasts for 2.5 hours longer than iPhone 12’s.

iPhone 13 has a 3227 mAh battery, while iPhone 12 comes equipped with only a 2815 mAh battery. iPhone mini, on the other hand, is equipped with a 2406 mAh battery, while iPhone 12 mini has a 2227 mAh battery.

Dual SIM Support

This feature can support up to two phone numbers that can be used

simultaneously. This has been made possible by Apple installing a physical nano-SIM slot and having an eSIM. From all the previous models, iPhone 13 models are the first ones to have dual eSIM support. This means that iPhone 13 can be used with two eSIMS rather than only one eSIM and one nano-SIM.
